The Artistry of QR Codes

 

The curated Scoop.it collection that I chose to create focuses on the quick response (QR) codes that are used by artists and educators. These codes are scanned by a device that can decimate information, such as a smartphones, iPods, or iPads, bringing to the viewer a multitude of information about the artwork. This information can be about the artistic process, influences for the artwork, artist’s statements, or sharing of other artistic endeavors such as poetry. The possibilities are endless to the types of information that can be brought to link to the artwork. Regardless, by linking information to an artwork brings a deeper breadth of knowledge to what the piece means to the artist.
