Born in Keokuk, Iowa. Spent four years in Minneapolis, MN. Then moved to Springfield, MO where I graduated from High School. Received my BFA in Graphic Design from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Worked at the University of Missouri Printing Services for five years as a Graphic Layout Specialist while continuing to take courses at the University until 1988. The University of Missouri Printing Services was the third largest university printing services in the United States. We created everything from business cards to books. Created the 1987 Missouri Tax Form as a special project.

 

Married an officer in the Navy in 1988. Lived in Monterey, CA and Lexington Park, MD before settling in Fleming Island, FL. Raised three children and divorced.

 

Attended the Art Institute of Jacksonville, graduating with an AA in Graphic Design in 2009. I was trained on the computer in the program Adobe Creative Suite. I won Best of Spring 2008 at AI.

 

Spent two and a half years teaching inner city children at a private school in Jacksonville, 6th through 12th grade, both Art and English. Received my certifications in Art K-12, ESE, and PK-3.

 

I am also a member of SoMMA, Society of Mixed Media Artists. Participated in the challenge competition of 2010 where my piece won “Honorable Mention”. The shows juror was artist and professor, Daniel Wynn.

 

Graduated December 2013 from St. John’s River State College, from the Educators Preparatory Institute, with my education courses so as to be able to receive my Professional License in Teaching.

 

Graduated in December 2015 with a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of Florida.
