“One man’s junk is another one’s art.”

My unit is on the repurposing of found objects incorporating into student artwork. That artwork does not need necessitating going out and purchasing materials, that often because of man’s wastefulness our environment provides useable items. It also brings home the point that we are a throw away society where we are ending up wallowing in the by products of our consumerism. The three artists that I selected not only exemplify this concept but also categorize their acquired finds into specified units. They sort their “finds” by color, shapes, and type of junk and so on in their artwork. Even when it is found objects there is methodology in how each artists repurposes their “finds”. It is not only about the environment but aesthetics in determining what makes junk into art.
